Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 is a Vintage Porto of exceptional quality, contemporary in style. It can may be enjoyed with pleasure while still young or after ageing.
The powerful intense aromas (blackberries, currants, plums, jam), characteristic of matured wines grown in the Upper Corgo region, are matched by a full-bodied palate and firm tannins. Very concentrated, Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 has the characteristics to make it evolve to its full maturity in bottle over the next decades, rounding out with elegant aromas and flavours, and growing in complexity.
Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 is bottled in a black glass bottle sealed with a cork, that provides the effective seal for extended bottle-ageing. The wine will age well for 20 years from harvest date. The bottle should be sheltered from light and kept horizontally, at a constant temperature of between 16ºC-18ºC.
Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 will naturally throw sediment in bottle over the coming years thus requiring careful decanting. Before opening, stand for 24 hours and then carefully remove the cork. Pour the clean wine into a fresh decanter, being sure to leave the sediment behind. Decanting will also let the wine breath. Serve at between 16ºC-18ºC. Once the bottle has been opened, Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 should be enjoyed within 1-2 days.
Food Pairing After passing its maturation period, this Sandeman Porto Vintage 2003 can be thoroughly enjoyed on its own, and will also make a good match to creamy cheeses or Stilton.
