Port Wine Recipe: Almond Tarts

  • 100 g of butter
  • 100 g of sugar
  • 100 g flour
  • 1 egg
  • To make the pastry base, beat the butter at room temperature, with the egg and sugar. When this mixture is white, add the flour and fold over with the help of a wooden spoon, to make a fluffy dough.
  • Divide the mixture amongst the 6 tart tins and spread carefully. Bake in preheated oven at 180ºC for about 15 minutes.
  • While the base is in the oven baking, put all the filling ingredients in a pot and heat until the butter and sugar have melted.
  • When the pastry is ready, remove from the oven and with a cloth, press downwards to flatten. Cover with the filling and bake another 5 minutes. Lastly, place under the grill until caramelized.
